Shipping Zone

Portostone ships from Porto de Mós, Leiria district, Portugal, to:

  • ✔ Mainland France (Brittany and all of France)
  • ✔ Europe (on request)
  • ✔ United States & United Arab Emirates (on request, specific conditions apply)

Order & Shipping Process

  1. Factory completes production to your specifications
  2. On-site quality control at Calvaria de Cima quarry — our partner physically inspects every slab and photographs all batches from every angle
  3. Once approved, the carrier loads the pallets onto the truck
  4. You receive the photo of the loaded truck and the CMR waybill — visual and legal proof your goods are on board
  5. You pay the balance (50%) only after receiving this proof
  6. The truck leaves the Portuguese logistics platform only after bank confirmation of full balance payment

Golden rule: “Balance payable against proof of loading”
You pay only when you have visual and legal proof that your goods are loaded at our Porto de Mós / Calvaria de Cima extraction site.

Carrier Detention Fees

⚠️ Any delay in paying the balance after receipt of loading proof will result in carrier detention fees charged exclusively to the Buyer. The truck cannot wait indefinitely at the Portuguese platform.

Transport Insurance

All goods are covered by CMR carrier liability insurance:

  • Insurer: Semper
  • Policy no.: 80-0766123215
  • Coverage: up to €250,000 per claim
  • Compliant with the CMR Convention for international road transport

Delivery Lead Times

  • Mainland France: 5 to 10 business days after bank confirmation of balance
  • Europe: 7 to 15 business days (depending on destination)
  • International (USA, UAE): lead time provided on quotation

⚠️ Lead times may vary depending on order volume and truck availability.

Minimum Order

⚠️ Exclusive sale by full truck of 24 tonnes (approximately 440 m² at 2cm thickness).
No individual pallet shipments.

Shared Trucks (Groupage)

For volumes below a full truck, Portostone offers shared trucks: several clients share the same truck. Conditions on quotation.

Incoterms

Delivery terms (EXW, DAP or DDP) are specified in each quotation and confirmed upon order validation.

Delivery Reservations

  • Issue written reservations on the delivery note in the presence of the driver
  • Confirm in writing within 48 hours to the carrier and to Portostone
  • Any claim reported after this deadline cannot be processed

Ludovic Singamalom, based in Brittany, handles the reception and quality control of every delivery on French territory.
